Basic camping gear for kids

The thought of bringing your little kids camping might be a little scary especially when you have no previous experience on what camping is all about. I felt the same way too when I planned to take them out on their first camping trip. If you have an experience in camping, you can really tell that bringing your kids with you is a different experience. Of course, you have to consider a lot of stuff, your safety, their food, how to keep them warm and etc. It will be unlike before wherein you only think about yourself on this outdoor adventure. You will also have to think bringing with you basic camping gear for kids because they have to have something for their own too.

What I can really advise to you before you go out to camp, get to know the various camping gear for kids that you can bring. These are the items that you should not be leaving home without.

1. Backpacks- I think this is really one of the most important kid camping supplies if they are old enough o carry their own. They can place their personal items in here like clothing, raincoats, toys and many others. At least they do not need to bother you at all times when they want something because everything that they want is very much reachable with their hands.
2. Camping tents and sleeping bags- I know there are tents for all sizes. You can actually fit a maximum for 8 persons in a camping tent nowadays. I really do not mean that you should find a custom-made tent for your kids so that they will fit inside it and it would not end up being to big. You have to consider that they do have separation anxiety but if you want them to have your own privacy while sleeping, you can get those exponential tents, wherein it is a big tent with divisions to make rooms for everybody.
3. Camping flashlights- This is one of the childs tent that they should be holding or carrying with them inside their backpacks. Every member of the family should have their own means to illuminate everything in the dark at night. You can give them lanterns as well but just remember to always give something battery operated for safe use. Also make sure that each and everyone of them have their own spare batteries.
4. Water Bottles- These are very important for your kids too. Eventually they will get thirsty so make sure that there is an available water bottle for them in their knapsacks. You can have different water bottles for their milk, juice or water. It really depends on how much they can afford to carry on their bags.
5. Compass, maps, whistles or any other items that they can use for signaling emergency- This is for emergency use. If in any case they will get lost at least they have ways to find you back. This is a very important kid tent as well but make sure they know how to use it.

Take note of these various items for camping. Although the tent and sleeping bags need not be brought by your kids but definitely it is very important. Do not forget all of these camping gear for kids for easy management of your family.
