When I was a young person I always dreamed of going to a church kids summer camp when I was old enough. They always said that we would sleep in cabins, we could go horseback riding which was always something that I wanted to do, hiking and exploring but only with a group, swimming there was also go carting. We also heard that they had organized sporting events like basketball, voleyball, softball, kickball and fun sporting event for everyone where they would do a variety of competetions and someone always would win the first, second and third place ribbons. This always seemed so fun, so when I was young I waited very impatiently to be able to go, but when I was almost old enough we moved away so it was a couple years later that I got to go and enjoy all of the fun things that go with summer camp. Give your kids that fun opportunity when they are old enough. When they go to summer camp they have a list of things that they should take along. | When you go camping as a family your kids either will enjoy camping or dread it. When I was younger we went on camping trips several times, but I did not enjoy camping. I thought that it was boring and sometimes harder work for me than when we were at home. I had to help set up the tent, help fix the lanterns, get the camping stove ready, set out the blankets and sheets, because we couldn´t afford to buy sleeping bags. Then I felt like we were constantly washing dishes and just when we finished we started making the next meal. My sisters and I had to swim across a part of the lake to set out the trot line to catch fish which we never caught-one time we caught a turtle and a shoe.
